There is going to be a gospel meeting next week at West End Church of Christ. The dates for this event are April 30th-May 4th. On Sunday, you'll get a chance to hear the chorus(which I'm a member of) sing. All of the details are on the website, so stop by and visit the website before you come to the gospel meeting. Now tnose of you that know me, know I don't rant unless it's something important.  Well this rant is about something extremely important, so just bear with me on this one… 

Okay I just don't understand how this could have happened.
On March 29, Nancy Grace did an interview regarding the murder of a Church of Christ minister.  The transcript from the interview can be found by going here: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0603/29/ng.01.html

Now what I find extremely disturbing is that she asked someone who wasn't even a member of the Church of Christ to answer questions regarding the church. 

He got several things wrong.

To  Ms. Nancy Grace:
If you want to get the truth about the Church of Christ, you should start by asking someone that is a member.  You wouldn't ask a Democrat to explain what a Republican beleives would you? That's essentially what you've done here.

The tragedy of a misplaced preeminence.

Col. 1:18 & 3 John 9

preeminence- to hold the first place to be the priority

Tragedy-When you take the preeminence of Christ and put it on someone or something else.

Eph. 1:22&23 (all) things

Col. 3:17
Col 1:13

Reasons Christ has preeminence:
1. In Christ we have redemption.
2. Image of the Invisible God.
3. The firstborn Hebrews 1:3, John 1:1, Psalm 89:27
4. All things were created by him.
5. He is before all things.
6. He is the head of the body(church).
Preeminence misplaced in the church is an absolute tragedy.
3 John 9 & 10, 1 Peter 5

Preachers aren't hired/fired, they are received by a congregagtion
1 Cor 9
1 Sam 18:5

In the Church, there is no room for members to have preeminence.
The Church is about Jesus.
